So I subsribe to a particular blog, written by a worship leader in New Mexico. I'm not sure how I even found his blog but I did...and he is the one who turned me on to the song Healer that I recommended in my last post.

Well, on that blog the guy posted today that the writer of Healer who professed to suffer from cancer was actually a fraud. He has now publically stated to his church and family that it was all a lie, and that he did not have cancer!

I just found out and am totally stunned....disappointed....hurt even. I'm trying to decide whether or not to even use that song anymore. It is still a powerful song. But one that is based on a lie? It's wierd. I feel so robbed...decieved.....it's really a shame!

OH. MY. GOSH. I can not believe that!

That's probably the REAL reason Hillsong had the vid removed from YouTube.

I'm absolutely stunned. At first I was like, well the song can still be good. But no it can't. If I led my church in this song I'd always be thinking "A liar wrote this song. It is his lie. I am leading my congregation in the words of a liar."

Unbelievable.

Whether he was sick with cancer or not does not change the song. The song was that of a desperate man, crying out to the Lord. It just turns out that he needs healing in his mind. Don't be religious and refuse to use the song, because, I tell you the truth, it is anointed. The words in the song are truth. He is the Healer. Interesting that he came clean about everything, perhaps this was part of God HEALING him, not of cancer but of a mind diseased. Let's rise up and be the church...have anyone of you ever told a lie? cheated? thought about something you had no business thinking of? Did it mean all of the things you had done were rendered to nothing?

I wouldn't use the song.

It's not like there aren't hundreds of thousands of other songs out there by sincere Christian musicians that speak truth. The song was birthed in a lie. Who does the bible say is the father of lies? Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life?

Using this song only lines the guy's pocketbook through CCLI residuals, which encourages such behaviour.

That he's (supposedly) come clean is a good thing. But frankly, I don't even believe the "addition to porn" story is truth either, and is just another lie to cover for the lie.
